Let’s Dish! Dishes Up Food, Fun And Convenience

By Betsy Zatkulak

An innovative store is inspiring people to clean out their freezers and make room for some great home-cooked meals. Let’s Dish! – now open in Creve Coeur -- offers fun, time-saving methods for assembling delicious and nutritious meals without the fuss.

“Everything you need is right at your fingertips,” said Theresa Hunt, director of operations for Let’s Dish! stores in Creve Coeur and Chesterfield. “Our kitchen is your kitchen. Just let us do all the work, and you just come in and enjoy.”

When Hunt says they do all the work, she means it. The friendly Let’s Dish! staff takes care of the prep work, answers questions, provides cooking tips and even cleans up the mess. Guests simply sign up and select meals online, grab a cooler for carrying home meals to freeze, don a Let’s Dish! apron and bandana and head to the dishing stations where fun, conversation and easy-to-follow recipes and fresh ingredients await.

Let’s Dish! offers four “dishing” options: in-store, two-hour sessions; private parties; business events (employees and/or clients participate in fun, team-building tasks while preparing meals for their families); and “Dish-n-Dash,” (customers pick up pre-dished meals to take home).

“The neat thing about coming in and assembling your own meals is that you can tailor them to your family’s tastes and dietary needs,” Hunt said. Nutritional information is available online, many dishes can be prepared with ingredients like non-fat sour cream, and meals that include rice can be prepared with brown or white rice. Guests simply choose four, eight or 12 meals that their families will enjoy. Small households can split six-serving meals in half, and those wanting to feed a crowd of 12 can double up on a few dishes. Regardless, meals cost an average of $3 per serving.

Let’s Dish! menus change monthly, ingredients always are fresh and selections vary from updated family favorites to elegant restaurant fare. Among the items featured this month are Greek Island Tilapia with Cous Cous; Thai Ginger Pork Wraps with Ginger Soy Sauce; BBQ Chicken Pizza; and Chocolate Molten Cakes. As an added convenience, ready-made meals, side dishes and desserts are ready for pickup any time, offering the perfect solution for last-minute dinners, weekend getaways and gifts for new moms, neighbors or a friend who needs a helping hand.

To demonstrate its commitment to the community, Let’s Dish! offers a “Dish for A Cause” program to help organizations with their fund-raising efforts. Participants register for dishing sessions, and Let’s Dish! will donate 10 percent of customer purchases to the specified organization.

Getting started with Let’s Dish! is easy: First-time visitors are given a quick tour and an opportunity to “dish” at a reduced cost. Guests can sign up in the store or register online at www.letsdish.com.
