A Volunteer Effort
Thanks to the efforts of a hard-working team of dedicated volunteers, the annual Creve Coeur Days celebration continues to provide a venue of fun for festival-goers and much-needed funds for area charities.
Since its inception in 1967, volunteers have generously donated their time and talents to make Creve Coeur Days a successful event. Volunteers are members of Creve Coeur Days, Inc., a not-for-profit organization whose primary purpose is to support charitable causes. Over the years, Creve Coeur Days has donated more than $170,000 to various organizations in need, thereby improving the lives of countless individuals who live, work and play in and around the Creve Coeur community and beyond.
Arm Band Night Thurs., May 15 is Arm Band Night at Creve Coeur Days. Children and adults who purchase an arm band for $14 may ride the carnival rides as often as they like throughout the evening. Plenty of exciting rides will light up the Midway, which also will feature game and food booths galore.
Kids’ Tent Because kids are a special part of Creve Coeur Days, the festivities will include a special tent designed for toddlers through 11-year-olds. There will be games, prizes and a variety of kid-friendly fun, all offered free of charge. The Kids’ Tent will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and free pony rides will be featured from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. both afternoons.
Parade The annual Creve Coeur Days Parade steps off at 1 p.m. on Sun., May 18 from the HBE company parking lot, just west of Mosley Road, and heads east on Olive, ending at the entrance to Monsanto, west of Lindbergh on Olive. Parade Marshal Bob Plager, a favorite of St. Louis Blues hockey fans, will lead a long line of colorful units, including marching units, Shriners’ mini cars, horses and riders, floats, decorated cars and many other entries. “For those who delight in watching a parade, the best advice is to arrive early and pick out a shady spot along the parade route on the south side of Olive,” advised Joe Lott, who is co-chairing the parade with his wife, Terri. The parade will culminate the four-day Creve Coeur Days festival.
